Given Up è il quarto singolo dei Linkin Park estratto dal loro ultimo album Minutes to Midnight. La canzone presenta uno dei “riff” di chitarra elettrica più pesanti che siano mai stati elaborati dal gruppo; influenze dall’Heavy Metal e dal Punk sono ben visibili nella traccia, la quale è caratterizzata, inoltre, da uno scream di ben 17 secondi eseguito dal cantante Chester Bennington.
l video è stato pubblicato il 4 marzo 2008 sul sito ufficiale della band. Esso è un collage di immagini riprese durante il concerto del 28 e 29 gennaio 2008 e di vecchi video della band come One Step Closer, Breaking the Habit e Papercut. Questo è uno dei pochi video dei Linkin Park non diretti da Joseph Hahn; in questo frangente, il regista è Mark Fiore. In relazione al testo, questo video esprime la rabbia, la paranoia e l’ ossessione che hanno assillato Chester nel corso della sua difficile infanzia.
